Behind The Song:
If you’ve ever had a relations with an addict, whether it’s pills or alcohol or gambling or some other vice, then you’re familiar with this.
LYRICS:
We’ve spent years
Listening to you
Blaming everyone around you
For the things you do
The drinking, the drugs
You’re never to blame
Someone else caused it
It’s always the same
Chorus:
You blame your childhood
You blame your partners
You say you’re trapped
There’s nothing you can do
But HEY!…
You get to choose
You get to choose
You always get to choose
You get to choose
Every time you take
A pill or a drink
You make a decision
But you don’t think
Every time you fall
We all share the cost
We live with the shadow
Of the person we’ve lost
Chorus:
You blame your childhood
You blame your partners
You say you’re trapped
There’s nothing you can do
But HEY!…
You get to choose
You get to choose
You always get to choose
You get to choose
Bridge:
Own up
To the choices you’ve made
Make a decision
About how you behave
You get to choose
How your life will be
Until you choose something else
You’ll never be free
Chorus:
You blame your childhood
You blame your partners
You say you’re trapped
There’s nothing you can do
But HEY!…
You get to choose
You get to choose
You always get to choose
You get to choose
We know you’re in pain
So choose something else
Choose
Choose
Choose something else
Yes, you get to choose
You always get to choose
HEY!…
You always get to choose
CHOOSE
